Everyone in their life has experienced difficult situations including broken relationships and emotional hardships. Both Ray Bradbury story “Fahrenheit 451” and Kesha song “Praying” both share similar and different problems they both faced. They also both share human emotion and what human’s do when they have a difficult problem they have to face and they show that it can be difficult to get over a relationship or emotions. They also show how you can get over it and you can learn from what hurt you. You can also bring yourself back up even without no one help.
Some similar things that both of these texts share is that they both find a way to move on and say the past is the past. In Kesha’s song it says “I can thank you for how strong I have become” which means that she learned from what hurt her. Kesha proves the theme that if someone’s treating you badly that you can get over it and that you have the power to do it. Fahrenheit 451 also shows that you can move on and get over it. In the book it says “Montag truly loved Mildred but she just wants to commit suicide.” As a result because all Mildred cared about was killing herself Montag had to learn to get over her and he doesn’t want to be around her. Also in both texts, the characters are both affected with abusive relationships.
There are some differences with the theme too with both of these texts. In Kesha’s song “Praying” Kesha finds happiness after her breakup while Montag struggles to find happiness. An example in “Praying” is “I’m proud of who I am” so after Kesha had her breakup she realized that she’s happy of who she is and don’t need him. In “Fahrenheit 451” Montag had\gets help with his problems while Kesha was by herself when she had her problems. An example in “Fahrenheit 451” is “Montag had Clarisse the whole time and she helped Montag through the problems with Mildred.” So Montag wasn’t by himself like Kesha Montag had somebody to help him. You can tell that Kesha is a really strong person and doesn’t need anybody to help her with her problems.
In both “Fahrenheit 451” and “Praying” Ray Bradbury and Kesha show that you can get over relationships with or without help. And that you have the strength to overcome emotions and hardships that may come in your way. But both texts have their differences and similarities they both share important themes that you can learn from.
